What are the causes of snoring?
The causes of Snoring differ from one person to another. It is mostly due to too much nasal tissue that vibrates. The increased size of a nasal tissue narrows the airway. When you breathe, nasal tissue vibrates causing the snoring sound. The commonly known causes of snoring are:-
- Sleeping posture. When you sleep flat on your back, your nasal tissue obstructs the airways.
- If you have any nasal complication that might cause obstruction of the airways.
- Age factor. The older you get, the narrower your throat, thus decreasing your muscle tone.
- Weight gain. Fatty tissues around the nasal region cause obstruction of the airways thus snoring.
- Certain medication leads to nasal muscle relaxation that lead to snoring
